M.K. Air Base: A team of teams

As of September 2014, M.K. Air Base consists of a team of teams supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and the drawdown in Afghanistan. Together they have processed more than 100,000 transient Soldiers, Marines and Navy Corpsmen in and out of theater since February 2014. TCMK, Air Force with the 780th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, Soldiers and civilians under the 21st Theater Sustainment Command and Black Sea area support Team took over much of the transient operations that took place on Manas Air Base as the contract with that base came to an end.

The BSAST supports the joint mobility mission, as well as the theater security operations and combined military training of the Black Sea Rotational Force Marines and NATO forces at Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria.
