The Inspector General serves as the eyes, ears, and conscience of the 7th ATC General Officer Senior Mission Commander by supporting all elements of the 7th ATC footprint, providing assistance to solve problems and by conducting the necessary investigations and inquiries which meet the standards of objectivity and fairness.

• Consider giving your chain of command an opportunity to solve the problem or issue first.
• Does your problem or issue have another form of redress (i.e., EO, EEO, appeals, evaluations, etc.)?  If so, it may not be appropriate for the IG. 
• If IG assistance is needed, contact your local IG first – they will actually be the fastest.
• Keep in mind that IGs are not policy makers – IGs can only recommend, not order, a resolution.
• Remember IGs can only facilitate resolution of issues on the basis of facts.
• Don’t expect instant action on your request.
• Be prepared for an answer that you don’t want to hear.
