As part of Independence Day celebrations, Camp Phoenix was host to the Atlanta, Ga. based AJC Peachtree shadow run. Approximately 200 runners gathered for the race in patriot square with the Atlanta Track Club on video chat to officially start the race. Opening remarks by Chief Warrant Officer 3 Larken Reese, the event organizer for Camp Phoenix, and Col. Randall V. Simmons, Jr., the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team commander.
