Interview of Lt. Col. Saxon Yander of the 69th Fighter Squadron provides a familiarization flight on an F-16 assigned to the 310th Fighter Squadron to a Joint Terminal Attack Controller. Airmen who have been providing ground control for aircraft at the local range are given the opportunity to see what it is like to drop bombs and conduct strafing runs from the air. The unique perspective gives the JTAC’s a better understanding of their job helping provide close air support during ground combat operations.
