U.S. Army South
March 25, 2013 | 1:44
U.S. Active army and National Guard components are in El Salvador supporting Beyond The Horizon-El Salvador. U.S. and Salvadoran military engineers and medical staff are building schools and conducting medical clinics here. Beyond The Horizon is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored, Army South-led,
joint-foreign military interaction and humanitarian exercise which will
occur in El Salvador from late March to late June 2013.
Two members of the 753rd Quartermaster Company, Green Bay, Wis., are interviewed and discuss the nature of their mission in the Sonsonate District of El Salvador. Their unit is providing water purification services in support of a 3 month mission in El Salvador. The hundreds of Soldiers they support will be proving engineering and medical expertise in remote areas of the country as part of a humanitarian mission at the request of El Salvador.
Soundbites from 2nd Lt. Peirce Laedtke, Osh Kosh, Wisc., Sgt. Gregg Harpin, Green Bay, Wisc.
