SUMMARY:
Soldiers deployed to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, Romania, participated in an emergency readiness exercise, August 21, 2019. The exercise is designed to challenge and prepare base personnel to manage and prepare for a mass casualty event, whether it be a natural disaster, accident, terrorist or insider threat situation. This is the first time this type of exercise has been conducted at this location, allowing military police, medical responders and firefighters to train together. Video shows personnel responding to incident scene, casualty collection, trauma treatment and medical evacuation training.
