OSAA Realigns to Meet 'One Army' Vision
National Guard Bureau
Sept. 30, 2015 | 2:46
During a recent ceremony, the Operational Support Airlift Agency, or OSAA, located at Davison Army Airfield near Fort Belvoir, Virginia ushered in a new commander and a new era in fixed wing Army Aviation. As part of Army reorganization, OSAA will soon transition to an activity that reports directly to the commander of the Army Air Operations Group, or AAOG, and will realign itself under the Military District of Washington.
On 04 October 2015, OSAA will transition to become an Activity and align the entire organization under the Military District of Washington (MDW) reporting directly to the Commander of the Army Air Operations Group (AAOG). Under the Operational Support Airlift restructure, 48 State/Territories will convert from TDA to MTOE detachments leaving 5 states to remain as TDA state flight detachments. ARNG will close three of four Regional Flight Centers to include Ft. Hood, TX; Elmendorf AFB, AK; and Joint Base Lewis-McCord, WA assigned to OSACOM. The ARNG will align the Ft. Belvoir Regional Flight Center under MDW/AAOG and transfer four UC-35s and one C-12 aircraft to establish a non-executive OSA flight detachment at Ft. Belvoir. The Operational Support Airlift Activity will begin its restructure under an O5 command as OSACOM is dissolved and absorbed under AAOG and the active duty fixed wing programs.
