Eagle Scout Tree Planting Project

Cayson Merta, a 12-year-old Boy Scout, orchestrated the planting of 33 fruit and nut trees to replace part of the 77 trees removed due to rot and disease on Panzer Kaserne, Kaiserslautern Germany, May 9th for his Eagle Scout project and to help beautify the base. The Eagle Scout rank is the highest attainable rank in the Boy Scouts of America and is typically earned around the age of 16 or 17 years old. A minimum of 21 merit badges must be earned to achieve Eagle Scout and Cayson has earned 35 badges.
