Exercise Cobra Gold 2018 officially began with remarks from Pacific Command representative Lieutenant General Lawrence Nicholson, III Marine Expeditionary Force commanding general, U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand Ambassador Glyn Davies and General Thanchaiyan Srisuwan, Chief of Defense Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Cobra Gold 18 provides a venue for both United States and partner nations to advance interoperability and increase partner capacity in planning and executing complex and realistic multinational force and combined task force operations. Cobra Gold 18 is an annual exercise conducted in the Kingdom of Thailand held from Feb. 13-21 with seven full participating nations. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt. Devin Phommachanh)
