Ask the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers- Dam or Dike?
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District
June 3, 2024 | 3:29
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers highlights our children's curiosity with a video series called "Ask USACE". In this video we asked the Kids the question: “What is the difference between a Dam and a Dike?” And took some time to learn a little bit more with the Jacksonville Districts, Chief of the Risk Management Branch, John Kendall. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is committed to addressing the nation's STEM challenge. Our employees participate in mentorship programs, science fairs, robotics competitions, and other educational opportunities. STEM drives innovation promotes economic development and enhances our understanding of the world we are making by encouraging children to pursue engineering.
The U.S. Army makes a difference in the lives of American citizens, we operate approximately 240 navigation chambers at more Than 190 sites and manage dams in 44 states reducing the impacts of flooding on people, businesses, critical infrastructure and the environment. .(U.S. Army Video Brigida Sanchez)
