Tri-Service Optician School (TOPS) “Providing the Sight to Fight”
Visual Information Directorate-NMLPDC
Aug. 17, 2023 | 5:16
The video shows the quality opticianry training taking place at the Tri-Service Optician School (TOPS) in Yorktown, VA. TOPS teaches enlisted Navy and Army students ophthalmic dispensing, ophthalmic fabrication, and clinical optics. Upon graduation, students will earn either the 68H Army Military Occupational Specialty Code or the L19A Navy Enlisted Classification. As every action in the readiness continuum demands good vision, TOPS training contributes directly to the Tri-Services in operational settings and beyond.
TOPS is located aboard Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, and is within the Naval Medical Leader and Professional Development Command (NMLPDC) in Bethesda, MD.
