Josh Jones, graduate student researcher at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, explains oceanographic science operations conducted aboard Coast Guard Cutter Maple during the crew's 2017 Northwest Passage transit through the Arctic from Alaska to Baltimore. Their transit marks the 60th anniversary of the Northwest Passage transit made by U.S. Coast Guard Cutters Storis, SPAR and Bramble, along with the Canadian icebreaker HMCS Labrador.
