For more than 40 years, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been working hard to be good stewards of the environment. Now more than ever, sustainability is a prime focus. USACE is utilizing alternative energy sources, investing in energy efficient systems to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. The Corps' making smart investments for the future by ensuring that whatever we're doing is sustainable, saving taxpayer dollars. USACE is the largest single provider of hydropower in the nation. This next segment takes us to a hydro power facility in Walla Walla, Washington.
