Nearing 200 days, Commander gives Hurricane Helene debris cleanup update
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District
April 4, 2025 | 1:48
In this video, Dave Connolly, Wilmington District Public Affairs chief, speaks with Col. Brad A. Morgan, Wilmington District Commander, about the ongoing Hurricane Helene cleanup mission in North Carolina. Approaching 200 days since the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers first mobilized to assist with the recovery efforts, the team of nearly 2,500 uniformed, DOD civilians and contractors has just surpassed 4 million cubic yards of collected debris from affected waterways and public right-of-way areas. That's the equivalent volume of nearly 15 million 55-gallon drums!
