Joint service members from the 59th Medical Wing and Brooke Army Medical center’s extra corporeal membrane oxygenation team taught staff at Naval Medical Center San Diego the essentials for supporting a critically wounded patient using ECMO and tested the usage of a telemedicine link to support medics in remote locations. The teams hope this course is the beginning of a robust hub and spoke model for global care of critically wounded service members.
