502nd Air Base Wing
Oct. 7, 2016 | 2:38
Women in the Air Force, the term for women who joined the Air Force between the years of 1949 -1976, was founded in 1948 out of the Women’s Armed Service Integration Act, which enabled tens of thousands of female service members to find jobs in the Air Force. In 1976 women were accepted into the service on an equal basis with men.
