U.S. Army Paratroopers assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, complete the obstacle course during the Small Unit Ranger Tactics (SURT) program on Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Apr. 1, 2025. SURT serves as a progressive physical and tactical preparation program designed to prepare Paratroopers to be successful during the Ranger Assessment Phase and Darby Phase of Ranger School, and throughout the remaining phases of the course.
