Dam Safety Awareness: In support of National Dam Safety Awareness Day (May 31, 2015), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District will post brief updates throughout the month of May about our Dam Safety Program.

Did you know that the Addicks and Barker reservoirs and dams have been providing flood damage reduction along Buffalo Bayou downstream of the reservoirs and through the center of the City of Houston for nearly 70 years?

Learn more about how we continually inspect our dams and are dedicated to protecting lives, property and the environment by ensuring that our dams are designed, constructed, operated and maintained as safely and effectively as possible.
