Operation Allies Welcome - Operation Allies Refuge
Jan. 19, 2022 | 2:51
Camp Atterbury is one of several military installations that housed and resettled Afghan guests after the fall of Kabul during Operation Allies Welcome, Ind., Jan. 19, 2022. Afghan guests are placed in communities across the country to begin rebuilding their lives across America. This initiative provides essential support at secure locations outside of Afghanistan. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities in permanent or temporary structures as quickly as possible.
