PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 28, 2019) - U.S. Marines, assigned to 3rd Reconnaissance
Battalion, 3rd Marine Division and Special Operations Engineer Regiment,
Special Operations Command Australia teams conduct fast rope Helicopter
Visit Board Search and Seizure (HVBSS) training with the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 aboard maritime prepositioning force container, roll-on/roll-off
and mobile landing platform USNS Dahl (T-AKR 312) as part of Exercise HYDRACRAB.
HYDRACRAB is a quadrilateral exercise conducted by forces from Australia,
Canada, New Zealand, and the U.S. The purpose of this exercise is to prepare
the participating explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) forces to operate as an
integrated, capable, and potent allied force that is ready to respond to a
changing and complex maritime environment in the Indo-Pacific region. (U.S.
