U.S. Army and Royal Australian Artillery Soldiers participate in an Expert Physical Fitness Assessment at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, as part of the Indo-Pacific Best Redleg Competition, Jan. 21, 2026. The EPFA is a demanding, combat-focused U.S. Army fitness test consisting of 8 events to be completed in 30 minutes: 1 Mile Run, 30 Dead Stop Push-ups, 100-Meter Sprint, 16 Sandbag Lifts, 50-Meter Water Can Carry, 25-Meter High Crawl, 25-Meter 3-5 Second Rush, and another 1 Mile Run. The competition serves as the region’s premier artillery event and evaluates physical fitness, core Soldier skills and military occupational specialty proficiency to determine the best leaders from across the Pacific.
