(Feb. 9, 2018) The guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) arrives pierside in Mobile to participate in Mardi Gras celebrations during a scheduled port visit. Community members greeted the crew with an opening ceremony on the pier, featuring Mobile Mayor William “Sandy” Stimpson, representatives from William P. Davidson Senior High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC), and performances by the Murphy High School band.
