MCWSS Rescues
Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools
April 3, 2023 | 23:18
This is an Instructional Media Video on Marine Corps Water Survival School Rescues. Understanding the proper and safe method to approach, escape, and tow a suspected drowning victim will make the difference in the survival of the victim and placing you the rescuer in a dangerous situation. Every year rescuers with good intentions respond to water victims with the intent of saving a life. Often these rescuers become the victim as the result of poor preparation or very little rescue skills knowledge. Early recognition and response to a drowning victim requires learned skills and abilities such as the cardinal rule, lifesaving approaches and approach strokes, ready position, lifesaving defenses, escapes, level-offs, tows, and carries.
