Recruits complete the Official Physical Fitness Assessment (OPFA) at Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes, Illinois. The OPFA is the final physical fitness assessment required to graduate boot camp and consists of dynamic warm-up exercises, push-ups, planks, one-and-a-half mile run, and cool down stretches. Boot camp is approximately 10 weeks and all enlistees into the U.S. Navy begin their careers at the command. More than 40,000 recruits train annually at the Navy's only boot camp.
