When Super Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, it caused widespread physical damage leveling homes and knocking out power and communications. Thousands of people died while many more lost everything. The Philippine government, along with more than 15 other nations including the United States and Japan, have been working together tirelessly to help all those affected and return the state of those damaged areas back to normal. The United States Pacific Command liaison for Armed Forces of the Philippines, Colonel Restituto Padilla Jr, talked about his country’s progress in the wake of Super Typhoon Haiyan.
