M.A.C.E. in Afghanistan
U.S. Forces Afghanistan
March 12, 2018 | 1:36
When ingenuity and engineering meet in the combat zone -- designs like the Mobile Area Cordon Equipment (MACE) stop would-be attackers in their tracks.
Conceptualized by U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Terran Mace, Georgian Liason Team joint fires observer, whose unit experienced a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonation outside of Bagram Airfield September 2017, the MACE device is designed to keep U.S. and coalition servicemembers safe within a cordon.
