Brig. Gen. Julian D. Alford assumes command of Marine Corps Installations East - Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune from Col. Michael L. Scalise during an assumption of command ceremony at Goettge Memorial Field House on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Aug. 7, 2017. A career infantry officer with 32 years of service, Brig. Gen Alford most recently served as the commanding general of the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory Futures Directorate. Following the ceremony, Col. Scalise will resume duties as deputy commander, MCIEAST-MCB Camp Lejeune.
