Old Hickory Lock Empty for Maintenance
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District
July 27, 2015 | 2:24
Old Hickory is empty and closed to navigation while U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District maintenance personnel inspect and repair underwater components. The district is also working with the Engineer Research and Development Center to use a new technology to protect underwater steel structures that are subjected to corrosion and cracking. The work is necessary for the lock to operate properly for years to come. (USACE video by Leon Roberts)
