Oct. 12, 2016 | 2:58
Narration:
A film crew from TV Tokyo, one of the major TV stations in Japan was recently at Yokohama North Dock to film scenes for an upcoming variety program called Add-matic-tengoku that is expected to air in early November.
Interview: Ryo Takahashi, Director, How Full’s TV Production Company
The program is designed to introduce fascinating towns’ within Japan to include food and culture within an hour program. This time, we focused on the area called Nakakido in Yokohama city. In this episode,we wanted to inform the audience that there is an Army camp in Nakakido area and there are so many friendly people working there and also introduce the other fascinating areas in Nakakido.
There are people that might not know about Yokohama North Dock so one of our goals is to inform the audience about Yokohama North Dock through this episode.
Narration:
While on Yokohama North Dock, the crew filmed at several locations on the installation including both in and outside the 836th Transportation Battalion Headquarters building. They also interviewed the Commander of the 836th Transportation Battalion, Lt. Col. Clydea M. Prichard-Brown and asked her about life in Yokohama. They also focused on the lunch that U.S. Army Soldiers eat while they stationed in Japan.
Interview: Lt. Col. Clydea M. Prichard-Brown, Commander, 836th Transportation Battalion
Interview: Ryo Takahashi, Director, How Full’s TV Production Company
I thought the filming would be more difficult with restrictions before I came here today, but I realized that the commander and other people who work on here were very friendly and actually the filming went very smooth. So I deeply appreciated their great support.
Narration:
The Add-matic-tengoku is an hour variety TV program which spotlights a town in Japan that is randomly picked. They focus on landmarks within that town as well as food and culture. The program began in 1995.
