U.S. Marine 1st Lt. Mac Caldwell explains the scheme of maneuver for the final exercise as well as the friendships he and his Marines have made with service members of the Royal Thai Marine Corps during exercise Cobra Gold 2020, at Ban Chan Khrem, Kingdom of Thailand, March 5, 2020. Caldwell, a native of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., is currently serving as a company executive officer with Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. Exercise Cobra Gold 20 is the largest theater security cooperation exercise in the Indo-Pacific region and is an integral part of the U.S. commitment to strengthen engagement in the region.
