Madigan's COVID-19 Pandemic Response: Then and Now: A Week in the Life of MHS
Madigan Army Medical Center
March 13, 2021 | 2:59
March 13, 2021 marks the one-year anniversary of when the United States declared a national emergency over the outbreak of COVID-19. The pandemic came about much like a war, causing panic in our military community and testing the readiness of our Military Health System.
Serving as our boots on the ground, MHS health care providers have continuously fought bravely on the front lines to win the war against this novel coronavirus. While the battle has not yet been won, each day we become closer to victory. The accomplishments and triumphs, both big and small, have not gone unrecognized.
Through our vaccination efforts, new safety protocols, and unceasing vigilance, we have improved daily operations and efficacy in our patient care. Today, we are stronger and more unified this March than in 2020 – remembering those who we’ve lost and those we are fighting for to put an end to this pandemic.
To you, our doctors, nurses, and medical support staff, you have been one constant, the medical professionals standing shoulder-to-shoulder, on the ground, and fighting the raging spread of the coronavirus. For your unwavering service and sacrifice, we thank you.
