U.S. Army Cpt. Lydia Garner, the safety officer, talks about her role and responsibilities at the state-led, federally-supported Community Vaccination Center (CVC) at the former Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana, May 7, 2021. Cpt. Garner spoke with U.S. Air Force Airmen and U.S. Army Soldiers during her safety inspection and discusses the importance of safety at the CVC. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
