Fallen Vietnam War heroes honored in 55th anniversary ceremony B-roll

American Legion Post 97 hosts the 55th anniversary commemoration ceremony honoring fallen Vietnam War service members at Locust Grove Cemetery in Brewster, Washington, May 27, 2023. The ceremony was held in honor of U.S. Army Pfc. John Timothy Lane and Marine Lance Cpl. Marvin Earl Galbraith; Lane was awarded, posthumously, the Distinguished Service Cross for displaying extraordinary heroism by jumping on an enemy grenade that was thrown at his unit during a night battle near Duc Hoa, May 4, 1968. In remembrance of Lane’s sacrifice, his surviving sisters were also presented with Gold Star Lapel Buttons. Lane was assigned to Bravo Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, before the unit was ultimately reassigned to the 4th Infantry Division in 2014.
