Mobilizing Soldiers at Fort Bliss is a team effort
Army Reserve Medical Command
July 26, 2023 | 2:05
An Army Reserve Medical Command unit from Albuquerque, New Mexico, the 7251st Medical Support Unit, is currently mobilized to Fort Bliss, Texas where it is carrying out a critical mission; making sure American servicemembers are medically fit to deploy overseas. The unit is at Fort Bliss for one year to run the base's Soldier Readiness Processing Center, or SRP, which validates soldiers' medically deployable status. The 7251st also verifies soldiers' medical status upon their return home to the states. On some days as many as 800 Soldiers pass through and receive services from the SRPC. Additionally the unit's dental assets have sick call hours for Soldiers who have a dental emergency, and have command and control of a troop medical clinic (TMC) on a small outpost in New Mexico, the 7402nd TMC out of Vallejo, California.
