JRTC Rotation 23-10 2nd BCT Paratroopers Conduct Air Assault Mission

U.S. Paratroopers assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, participates in an air assault mission during Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) Rotation 23-10 on Avelino Drop Zone, near Fort Johnson, L.A., Sept. 22, 2023. The purpose of an air assault is direct combat insertion, as opposed to being transported through the vicinity of combat insertion, as opposed to being transported through the vicinity of combat. During the air assault soldiers prove that they are equipped with both the knowledge and tactical gear to move at night. More than 4,000 2nd BCT Paratroopers will participate in the rotation, validating their preparedness for potential upcoming missions. (U.S. Army video by Spc.
