Assistant Master of the Dredge Potter 2023 Season Overview
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District - MVS
Oct. 17, 2023 | 1:28
For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, takes on the challenge of keeping commerce moving on the Mississippi River. With the low water conditions, this task remains a high priority for the Assistant Master, Andy Kotlarz and the crew of the Dredge Potter.
The dredge is nearing completion of a job to remove an estimated 50,000 cubic yards of dredged material per day from the navigation channel near Commerce, Mo. in Scott County, on October 17.
The dredge – one of three dredging operations working in the St. Louis Districts area of operation from Saverton, Missouri to Cairo, Illinois will move a few miles upstream in the next few days as the district works to keep the navigation channel open for commercial tows.
