The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Ignatius (DDG 117) steams through the Baltic Sea and conducts a live-fire exercise in support of exercise Baltic Operations 2025 (BALTOPS 25) in the Baltic Sea, June 12, 2025. BALTOPS 25 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region. The exercise, led by U.S. Navy Forces Europe/Africa/U.S. Sixth Fleet and command-and-controlled by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen combined response capabilities critical to preserving freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
