PRESS RELEASE

7th ARMY TRAINING COMMAND

GRAFENWOEHR, GERMANY

U.S. Army Europe and Africa to hold Combined Resolve Exercise

HOHENFELS, Germany – Approximately 4,000 participants, NATO Allies and European partners will participate in Combined Resolve 25-2 at the U.S. Army’s Hohenfels Training Area from May 1 to June 3, 2025.

Exercise Combined Resolve is a recurring exercise designed by the U.S. Army Europe – Africa to prepare a multinational brigade for support of NATO deterrence initiatives. The 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division (1/3ID) from Fort Stewart, Georgia, is the primary training audience, with Poland’s 18th Mechanized Infantry Division operating as the High Command.

The U.S. Army is employing its "Transforming in Contact" (TiC) concept by selecting 1/3ID in the Army’s premier theater for transformation to rapidly field and test a range of commercial off-the-shelf technologies and capabilities. TiC is intended to help Army units stay agile in a fast-changing battlefield environment. 1/3ID is the first mechanized infantry division to execute a TiC rotation at Hohenfels.

Allied and partner nations expected to participate in Combined Resolve 25-1 are Italy, Kosovo, Poland, and the United States.

Combined Resolve 25-2 is a significant investment in strengthening the cohesion of the NATO alliance and the overall readiness of Allies and partners in a dynamic security environment. U.S. military forces in Europe routinely conduct these types of exercises with Allied and partner nations to enhance interoperability.

Combined Resolve 25-2 will validate 1/3ID's TiC construct and further its ability to respond to crisis or conflict. TiC is grounded in one simple principle: increased lethality for U.S. Army formations by creating more agile and mobile units capable of responding to complex combat scenarios.
