SHARP Essay, 750-word Informative Essay, 250-word Compare and Contrast Essay, Conduct Individual Training, Information Brief, Conduct Squad Drill, Conduct Physical Readiness Training, Assess Attributes, Competencies, 1-2 pages Professional Military Subject Essay, Land Navigation, and Leader STX Lanes.

Potential SGLs must meet the following criteria:

• Hold the rank of Staff Sergeant or Sergeant First Class.
• Graduate of mandatory PME for current grade.
• Key development time completed for current grade.
• Passed last ACFT.
• Meet Army height and weight standards.
• At least two years of experience in PMOS at the skill level you will be instructing.
• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• GT score of 100 (can be waived).
• No physically limiting permanent/temporary profiles.
• Remaining time in country no less than 18 months and be able to serve a minimum of 24 months as an instructor. Willing to extend overseas tour to meet the time requirement.
• Be able to pass background screening for a position of trust.
• Must have a security clearance.
